The Culturally Relevant Computing Lab (CRCL) was started in 2011, by Dr. Kinnis Gosha. Since then, the lab has gained national notoriety as the top producer of Black male PhD students in Computer Science. Students in the CRCL come from diverse set of majors and primarily from Morehouse College. Members of the lab work to investigate problems that intersect with computing, culture and society.

Recent Impact

(02/2018) RESPECT 2018 Conference features a CRCL research paper Awareness and Readiness for Graduate School of African American Male Computer Science Students based on African American computer science students’ confidence levels, academic and technical capabilities,  limitations of assistance, and likelihood in pursuing graduate education

(11/2017) CRCL was selected as a recipient of the Innovation Fund Tiny Grant, of nearly $7,000 to develop programs in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

(11/2017) CRCL was awarded a $157,000 contract by Clarkson Aerospace, LLC to conduct data analytical and mining research in the area of cybersecurity.
