Born in Baltimore, MD, Jason Grant completed the pre-engineering program at the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (H.S.). Upon receiving the Meyerhoff Scholarship, he attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and graduated in May 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. Throughout his undergraduate career, he interned at the Lockheed Martin Corporation and participated in three Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at the University of Colorado, Boulder; University of California, Riverside; and West Virginia University. Currently, he is a Deans’ Fellow and GAANN Teaching Fellow at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, focusing on computer vision and biometrics. As a graduate student, he has interned as a software developer at the Intel Corporation and taught in the First-Year Engineering program.
