Dr. Monica Anderson is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at The University of Alabama. Her research primarily focuses on human interaction with intelligent multi-robot systems and smart environments. Dr. Anderson also studies mechanisms that increase the number of female and underrepresented minorities in the computing sciences. Dr. Anderson is a co-principal investigator for the Institute for African American Mentoring in Computing Sciences (iAAMCS), an NSF sponsored broadening participation alliance that offers programs that assist students with getting “to and through” graduate school. Dr. Anderson is also a co-director of the Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (DREU) program.
