Joseph Isaac Jr. is a 3rd year PhD student studying Human-Centered Computing at the University of Florida. He’s originally from the Maryland/DC area where he earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and a M.S. in Information Assurance from University of Maryland University College. His research focuses on exploring new ways to teach computer programming concepts to middle and high school students using their own knowledge, culture, and sociopolitical consciousness. He aims to leverage learners’ musical interests to develop computational thinking through music production.
