Tiffanie R. Smith is a doctoral candidate in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Department at the University of Florida. Tiffanie received her B.S. in computer engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She is currently conducting research on culturally relevant educational technologies, with a specific focus on African American students and math education. While at UF, she has received two nationally prestigious fellowship awards; the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship and the Ford Foundation 2018 Dissertation Fellowship. Tiffanie is passionate about diversifying the fields of STEM by introducing computer science and engineering concepts to young students of color with the hopes of them pursuing STEM at the collegiate level.
